People Return to People — Not Hotels

Guests don’t return to buildings. They return to humans.

Every guest wants two things: to feel special, and to feel they belong.

I’ve seen this many times in my career: guests planning their vacation days around one beach attendant. They would call the hotel to ask, “Is he on duty this week?”

Guests return not because of the beach, the weather, or the facilities, but because of how that one employee made them feel special.

That is the highest form of hospitality and the strongest form of loyalty.

One sincere interaction is stronger than all your facilities combined.

Guests don’t return to buildings. They return to humans.

People return to places that make them feel special, but they stay loyal to the people who make them feel they belong.
