They Fear Discrimination — We Show Them Dignity
Hospitality sometimes means repairing the damage someone else caused.
Some guests walk into your hotel already expecting to be treated differently. Not because of you, but because of what life has taught them before. The guest is not wrong to have this feeling.
They’ve seen discrimination because of their race, color, or nationality. They’ve experienced unfairness. They’ve been judged. And they carry those memories with them long before they meet you at the front desk.
They walk in holding that fear, and hospitality becomes responsible for changing the story.
In Egypt, I saw locals fearing they would receive lower treatment than foreigners. Their fear wasn’t born in that moment, but hospitality can remove it.
Hospitality isn’t just providing service. Sometimes, it’s repairing the damage someone else caused.
