Day 20: Expecting Lobster on a Crab Budget

Expecting Lobster on a Crab Budget

Expectation must respect reality: hospitality can exceed expectations, but it cannot exceed the budget.

Some guests come with a room rate that barely covers the cost of electricity, water, and linen—yet expect a luxury experience with amenities that cost more than the room itself.

But here’s the truth no one says out loud: you can’t buy a crab and expect it to taste like lobster.

Hospitality is generous and can exceed your expectations—but it cannot exceed the budget.

It’s harsh, but it’s real: expectation must respect reality.

And yes—I’ve had guests asking for lobster in a crab-budget seafood buffet. 🙂

Realistic expectations, fair delivery, and clear communication—that’s how satisfaction is created.
